Have you found yourself wearing turtlenecks and scarves all year round just so you can cover loose skin on your neck? Or do you find yourself covering your neck with your hands in public? If so, you may be an excellent candidate for a neck lift in San Francisco

Drawing from decades of experience and utilizing state-of-the-art technology, Dr. James Anthony provides expert neck lift surgery to eliminate aging neck skin and restore a more youthful appearance.

What is a Neck Lift?

A neck lift re-shapes and tightens the underside of the chin, along the neck to remove loose skin that creates a double chin or “turkey wattle”. A neck lift provides dramatic improvements to your profile by removing loose skin and fat while tightening the area to result in a naturally smooth neck and jawline.

How Much Will My Neck Lift Cost?

During your consultation, Dr. Anthony will walk you through the costs associated with your neck lift in San Francisco. He’ll work with you to develop your personal treatment plan and will then provide you with a full cost breakdown. We accept many payment methods and can help you with information on low-interest medical financing to keep your neck lift as affordable as possible.

What are the Benefits of a Neck Lift?

A number of immediate and long term positive cosmetic benefits are associated with a neck lift, including:

  • Smooths the skin
  • Tightens the neck’s underlying muscles
  • Improve your confidence, stature, and esteem
  • Look better and younger for longer
  • Long-lasting results of up to 10 or 15 years

Am I a Candidate For a Neck Lift?

If you’re interested in a neck lift at our location in the Bay Area, you may be a perfect candidate. The best candidates are physically healthy and at a good weight, but feel embarrassed by lines, wrinkles, and loose skin along the neck. If this sounds like you, a neck lift surgery might be right for you.

Dr. Anthony’s Surgical Techniques

For neck lift surgery, IV sedation or general anesthesia is used. An incision is made just in front of or behind your ears, while another one might also be created beneath your chin. For isolated areas of fat, liposuction is the first step in the process. Next, any sagging, loose, or hanging skin is carefully excised, with the underlying tissue and remaining skin pulled tight.

Even though sutures are placed at the incision area, scars generally won’t be noticeable due to their placement beneath your chin. A non-surgical fat reduction injection like Kybella® may be used to enhance the results. Other non-surgical options such as a laser, peel, or IPL treatment can also help with skin texture and surface to produce an even more radiant appearance.

Neck Lift FAQ

What Causes Loose Neck Skin?

Sagging or loose neck skin can be caused by a number of things, including aging or significant weight loss. Whatever the reason, the result is an aged, unbecoming look. In most cases, this can only be cosmetically fixed with skin excision and tightening.

What About Non-Surgical Options?

Surgery is really the only way to correct sagging and drooping caused by loose skin. A neck lift is often the only effective solution when it comes to redefining your neck and leaving you with a smooth, contoured look. While there are plenty of laser treatments that can help tighten the skin, surgery is still the best option. A popular new treatment called Kybella reduces the fat in the upper neck that causes a double chin, but it does not correct loose skin as effectively as a neck lift.

Will I Have Visible Scars?

Our neck lift requires an incision under the chin and near the ears, but Dr. Anthony’s high level of expertise allows him to place them inconspicuously (within the hairline on the ears and under the chin), in a way that makes them very difficult to notice. We’ll also help you with scar care guidance to encourage your incisions to heal properly so they remain thin, flat, and unobtrusive.

Can I Combine a Neck Lift with Other Facial Surgeries?

During your consultation, we’ll walk you through all available options, such as facelifts and chin implants, in addition to your neck lift. It’s common for patients to combine procedures for optimal results. If you have any concerns about a weak chin or jawline, Dr. Anthony will work with you to design a comprehensive treatment plan.

Should I Get a Neck Lift or Liposuction?

Depending on your specific goals, you might want to consider combining a neck lift with liposuction to eliminate excessive skin and pockets of fat. During your consultation, Dr. Anthony will help you decide whether a neck lift, liposuction, or both should be part of your treatment plan.
